For half a year now, we have been supporting Hugo Picard aka the Sailing Frenchman, on his project to sail single-handedly across the Atlantic in a 6.5m boat. Shortly before the start of the 2021 Mini Transat, Hugo took time out to visit us in Bremen, get to know our various teams and tell us about his life as a sailor.
That feeling of being able to go anywhere with your boat, the feeling of freedom - it's great!
Hugo Picard
For 2 days we were able to spend time with Hugo, show him SVB, put together the last missing items for the boat equipment and answer questions about the most important topics so close to the start of the Mini Transat.
Hugo is still missing a few items to complete the boat equipment for the regatta. On Hugo's list are: Simrad TP 32, Gleistein Dyna One ropes, SEATEC aluminium round thimbles, Sprenger mini blocks and a few other odds and ends before heading out on the MINI TRANSAT. After placing his order online, Hugo follows the ordering process at SVB and the route the items take through our building. Our promise: his package will arrive before him at his home port, Les Sables d'Olonne in France.
All products are in stock and Hugo can find the ordered items in our automatic small parts warehouse after a few minutes and follow them to the DHL swap body.
When you are on the water, you are on your own. You have to find your own solutions and watch your own back

His package is there waiting for him at the port office when he arrives.
In his latest vlog about his visit to SVB, we answer his question and explain why we thought Hugo's project was worth supporting.
