The marine radio system IC-M506 EURO of ICOM is the ideal solution for those who value a wide range of features for your marine radio: The compact class D VHF system has a built-in DSC controller including ATIS, AIS and NMEA 2000 connectivity. This marine radio system offers many useful features that are easy to understand and use. And even if you do not make use of all these great functions - sometimes it is just comforting to know what you could do with your ICOM VHF.
With the optional COMMANDMIC you can control your new IC-M506 EURO from the inside of your cabin. In addition, both components can be used as an intercom.
Active Noise Cancelling
Thanks to the digital signal processing technology, the IC-M506 EURO offers active noise reduction, so that your voice is transmitted clearly and understandably. In addition, this feature reduces background noise: while receiving, it reduces noise up to 90% and when sending it reduces noise by 30%. Furthermore, you can record the last two minutes of the last incoming call, so that you never miss another call.
Built-in AIS receiver
The built in AIS receiver allows the real-time display of AIS targets on the screen of the ICOM IC-M506 EURO. For fast and accurate communication, a DSC call can be sent to a desired AIS target. The big advantage is that you do not need to enter the 9-digit MMSI number of the AIS target. It is sufficient if you select the target on the AIS screen and then press the call button.
NMEA2000 connectivity
Thanks to the plug-and-play functionality, the IC-M506 EURO can easily connect to a NMEA2000 network. GPS data, such as position, course over ground and speed setting, AIS reports and DSC Call information can be received and sent. In addition, radio frequencies and PGN list data is transmitted into the network.

The DSC or ATIS function/menu is only available in the respective channel group. Please change to the corresponding channel group to use the respective functions.
Programming notes:This device has to be programmed with your personal data, such as MMSI and/or ATIS numbers. You may carry out programming of MMSI and ATIS numbers yourself. Relevant instructions can be found in the manual.As an alternative, we can carry out programming for a programming fee. If you would like us to program your device, please let us know with your order. Furthermore, please enter your MMSI / ATIS number in the 'comment' field during your order or fill out our datasheet for programming VHF radios and send it to: datenblatt@svb.de. If additional channels (e.g. dutch channels 30, 31 and 37) are to be programmed, we also charge a programming fee. The application for MMSI and ATIS numbers can be found under Service/Downloads. |
